We look forward to hearing all about the brave individual or group you are honoring here. Please describe their story in as much detail as you’d like and how you’re connected to them. If you want to include any specific stories from their days of service that would be great.
Regarding photos: people learning about your honoree would love to see any photos or videos you have that you’re willing to share. In any event, please do share at least a couple photos and / or videos of you and your group at the memorial site raising your own flag, any words you’d like to say, a salute, whatever is appropriate for you. You can share as many photos and videos as you’d like. At a minimum please share at least one featured photo and one main story photo. If you only have one photo you may use that twice, however including more photos is always best.
Regarding the flags: it is likely when you arrive here there will already be a flag flying. If you wish to raise your own flag, you may lower the flag that’s flying and do one of two things with it. You may either take it with you to honor the service member for whom it has been flying, or you may leave it in the cabin for another group to fly at a later date. If you do leave it behind, please fold it in a respectful manner and leave it in an appropriate place where others can easily find it. A United States flag shall never touch the ground or be handled in a manner that is not respectful.
Thank you for being part of this living memorial. We look forward to hearing your stories.
